Jill Russell at Critical Transitions, SAS
Co‑designing the business and funding architecture that sustains your mission
I collaborate with nonprofits to design and refine the interconnected business and funding models that support lasting impact; aligning programs, costs, revenue streams, and internal capacity into a coherent, working system.
Impact needs more than fundraising, it needs...
Clarity
Mission without a model creates instability.
Many nonprofits lead with impact stories, but the underlying business and funding architecture is unclear or incomplete.
Capacity
Fragmented efforts exhaust small teams.
Without integrated systems, fundraising becomes reactive and disconnected from organisational needs.
Resilience
No single revenue stream can carry a mission.
Sustainable impact requires a balanced, interconnected portfolio; not dependence on one funder or funding type.
Meet Jill Russell
Throughout my career, I’ve been drawn to organisations that challenge traditional models of aid. Organisations that centre agency on the people they serve and build business and funding models that reflect their values and intentions.
For more than two decades, I’ve worked at the intersection of strategic relationship‑building, systems thinking, and organisational growth. I’ve led global institutional fundraising across 30+ countries, secured multi‑million‑euro annual revenue streams, and built the operational systems that enable organisations to scale responsibly.

My experience spans high‑growth environments and established global institutions. Across all roles, I’ve prioritised building strong internal partnerships and creating the systems and culture that enable organisations to sustain and thrive.
